William ?Billy? Robert Tocchio, Sr., 55, of Prescott Street, Attleboro, Massachusetts died on Friday, March 5, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family following a period of declining health. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts on October 20, 1954, he was a son of Mary Helen (Williamson) Tocchio of Attleboro and the late Licurgo J. Tocchio. He was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School in Hanover, Massachusetts. Mr. Tocchio was a resident of Attleboro since last May and formerly was a longtime resident of New Hampshire. He was employed as a greeter and stock person for the Home Depot in Conway, New Hampshire prior to his illness. He had also previously been employed as a maintenance worker for McDonalds in Conway. Mr. Tocchio was an ardent Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics fan. A very ?social? person, he treasured the times spent with family and friends and loved the peace and tranquility of times spent on the porch of his home. In addition to his mother, he leaves a son: William Robert Tocchio, Jr. of Plymouth, Massachusetts; a daughter: Laurie Tocchio of Plymouth, Massachusetts; two sisters: Helen M. Tocchio and her partner, Linda M. McCormack, of Attleboro, Massachusetts and Marylou Brancaccio and her husband, Ralph Brancaccio, of Whitman, Massachusetts; a granddaughter: Mariah Tocchio of Plymouth, Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews and his friend of more than 40 years: Marnie Beveridge and her family of Madison, New Hampshire. He also leaves a brother, Alfred, and a sister, Joanne. He was predeceased by his siblings, Larry and Roberta. Friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 2:00 ? 4:00 PM in the ?Memorial Chapel? of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home ? the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson House, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Friends are cordially invited to attend the Remembrance Service Celebrating His Life on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 4:00 PM immediately following visitation in the ?Memorial Chapel? of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home ? the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson House, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with Chaplain Gretchen Robinson of the Community VNA Hospice Care, officiating. Burial will be private. Children?s room available during visitation and the service. Those in need of a local ride to visitation may simply call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Please omit flowers.
