William John Tenney

William (Bill) John Tenney, 74, of Attleboro, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. He was the beloved husband of Sheila A. (McDonough) Tenney, to whom he was wed on November 13, 1966.Born on March 29, 1941 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late David Tenney and Eileen (Moran) Tenney.Bill was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School, Class of 1958 and attended Northeastern University. He proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Army. A resident of Attleboro since 1999, Bill previously lived in Franklin, MA. He worked for more than twenty years as a Store Manager for First National Stores in Worcester, MA, and also for many years as a Real Estate Broker for Robert L. Tenney Reality, a family business in Quincy, MA, until his retirement.He was a man who above all loved his family and time spent with them, most especially his cherished grandchildren. A fan of all of the Boston area sports teams, he enjoyed country music, the simple pleasures of being at home, working in the yard, and his late cats: Spike and Scooter.In addition to his wife, Sheila, he is survived by his treasured children: Stephen P. Tenney and his wife, Lupe (Soto) Tenney, of Lantana, TX; and Laura A. Tenney of Attleboro, MA. He was the dear brother of Ruth (Tenney) MacDougall of TN; and Robert Tenney of Quincy, MA. Bill was the adoring grandfather of Cody J. Middleton and Jamison A. Tenney. He leaves his nieces and nephews.
