William Hamilton Sargeant

William "Bill" Hamilton Sargeant, 84, of Naples, Florida, died on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Avow Hospice in Naples, Florida. He was the husband of the late Helen "June" (Wallenthin) Sargeant to whom he was married on November 11, 1950 and who passed away on February 5, 2008. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on January 20, 1929, he was a son of the late William Herbert and Helen "Bobbie" (Falkner) Sargeant. Bill was a graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1947. He continued his education at Brown University before graduating from General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering in 1953. Mr. Sargeant was employed as a Manufacturing and Sales Manager for General Motors and Texas Instruments. He also was the Eastern Regional Engineering Sales Manager for Tecumseh Products Company in (Tecumseh, Michigan) for many years prior to his retirement. Bill had been a member of the Ezekial Bates Lodge, Masonic Order; but his favorite pastime was sports cars. His most favorite was anything Jaguar. He was also a member of the Sports Car Club of America. Mr. Sargeant leaves behind two sons Scott W. Sargeant of Beckenham, England; Brett H. Sargeant of Naples, Florida; four grandchildren: Adam Sargeant of Hodges University in Florida; Francis Sargeant of Brigham and Young University in Utah; Eliza Sargeant of University of Binghamton in New York; Gerald Sargeant of Benkenham, England; and one brother: Richard "Dick" Sargeant and his wife, Lois (Fine) Sargeant of Rehoboth. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at North Purchase Cemetery, 825 North Main Street, Attleboro, with the Reverand Kelly Thibeault officiating.
