William "Bill" Francis Lydon, 86, of Bellingham MA passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence, RI.  He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Costello) Lydon.
Born and raised in Norwood MA, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Delia (Foley) Lydon.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren: Megan Boulanger, Ryan Boulanger, Zachary Ruby, Joshua Ruby, and Brittany Lydon.
A graduate of Norwood High School, Bill served in the U.S. Air Force, spending time in France and Germany.  He was a shipping foreman for many years at Allied Container.  He made a career change later in his life and was well known as the Chief of the Campus Police at the Wrentham Developmental Center, ending his career there after 25 years.
Although he was a very tall man, he was a gentle giant.  Many of the residents of WDC loved and admired him and he was a great friend to many.

He was the youngest of seven children and pre-deceased by all his siblings: Mary LoDico, Elizabeth Dangelo, Catherine Pasquino, Anne Pasquino, Irene Payne, and Joseph E. Lydon.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on a day to be announced in August 2022 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood, MA.
