William "Bill" H. Anderson, 58, of Hopkinton, MA, passed away after a valiant battle with cancer on Thursday, October 25, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham, MA. Bill thoroughly loved his time at the University of Lowell, and became active in the Greek Life on campus, joining and later becoming the President of Sigma Phi Omicron. After college, Bill worked as a Material Handling Engineer for Nuclear Metals, Senior Industrial Engineer for Zayre Corporation, Assistant Vice-President and Director of Facilities Services and Energy Management for the BJ's Corporation, and as the Director of Facilities Engineering and Energy for MathWorks. More than anything, Bill cherished spending time with his twin daughters, Camryn and Chloe, who were the center of his universe, whether visiting with his extended family and their children, visiting the beach on Cape Cod, or coaching their sports teams. Bill was a loving, caring father whose eyes lit up at the very mention of his girls. He spent countless hours supporting their many activities, from selling concessions at their games to rooting them on from the stands. He was an ardent New England sports team fan. A kind, caring, and generous man, he volunteered at the YMCA and for blood drives through the Red Cross. The world lost a beautiful soul when Bill passed away. He was a lover of nature, an avid gardener, and had a keen sense of humor and a quick wit. He had a gift that made others feel welcome, and an ability to find the humor in the most mundane things.
