William Andrew Carlin, 84, of North Main Street, Attleboro, died on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the beloved husband of Lois E. (Noyes) Carlin to whom he was married on February 3, 1951. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on December 30, 1928, he was a son of the late William A. and Frances E. (Carroll) Carlin. Mr. Carlin was a veteran of the United States Army and achieved the rank of Technician Fourth Grade. He was a graduate of the former Feener Business School. Mr. Carlin was employed as the comptroller and treasurer of the former Locke-Ober Restaurant in Boston for many years prior to his retirement. A resident of the City of Attleboro for the past 28 years, he was a former longtime resident of Canton. In addition to his career in the food industry, Mr. Carlin was a former vice president in the warehouse terminal industry and had his real estate license. He will be lovingly remembered for his skills and expertise as a gourmet cook. In addition to his cherished wife, he leaves five children: Lynn Marie Kvingedal of Gardner; Laura Ann Starmer of Henniker, NH; Brian William Carlin of Woodstock, Connecticut; Denise Janice Gamon of Jamestown, Rhode Island and Sean F. Carlin of Old Orchard, Maine; 8 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister: Janice Reardon of Roslindale section of Boston; a brother: John "Jack" Sherman of Sandwich and several extended family members and friends. He was the grandfather of the late Sean Patrick Carlin and Lars Kvingedal and was the great grandfather of the late Aiden Carlin. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation with Veteran's Honors on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
