Wilbur E. "Will" "Willy" Carlstrom, 81, of Hodges Street, Attleboro, died on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Lifecare Center of Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Eileen A. (Martin) McCabe Carlstrom to whom he was married on July 4, 1959. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on August 13, 1931, he was a son of the late Emil O. and Gladys (Marland) Carlstrom. Raised and educated in North Attleboro, Mr. Carlstrom attended North Attleboro schools. Mr. Carlstrom was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean era. He resided in Attleboro for the past ten years having formerly resided in North Attleboro, South Attleboro and Rehoboth. For more than 50 years, Mr. Carlstrom was a well-known figure at M. A. Vigorito & Sons, a downtown North Attleboro retail establishment, as a tailor and salesperson for more than fifty years prior to his retirement. He was the former owner of "Will's Bait and Tackle Shop" on Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro for many years. Many years ago, Mr. Carlstrom was a coach for the Little North Attleboro League and North Attleboro Pop Warner football. Mr. Carlstrom was a member of the Wrentham Sportsmen's Club, was a member and served as vice president of the United Fly Tiers Association, as an owner and racer of harness horses for more than ten years, he was a member of the Harness Horsemen's Association of New England. Mr. Carlstrom enjoyed trips to Foxwoods to test his good fortune and many years ago was an ardent bowler of big balls and candlepins as a member of various local bowling leagues. In addition to his wife, he leaves three children: Thomas E. Carlstrom of Rehoboth; William J. Carlstrom of Bourne and Elizabeth M. Maloon and her husband, Eric Maloon, of Attleboro; six grandchildren: Laura Langille of Attleboro; Tamarra Carlstrom of Rehoboth; Shawn Carlstrom of Rehoboth; Emily Carlstrom of Berlin; Tyler Carlstrom of Berlin and Kira Brodeur of Rehoboth; three great grandchildren, expecting two additional: Mia Duphily and Leah Duphily of Attleboro and Joseph Carlstrom of Rehoboth; his siblings: Eleanor Hagen and her husband, Ovin Hagen, of Wareham; Dorothy Polion of North Attleboro; Janet Tolatovicz and her husband, Matthew Tolatovicz, of Plainville and Brenda Assalyn of Cumberland, Rhode Island and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was the brother of the late Donald "Pick" Carlstrom. Public visitation is respectfully omitted. Funeral services and burial will be conducted privately.
