Wayne Francis Pendleton, Sr., 67, of Plainville, formerly of Foxboro, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. Born in Brockton, Massachusetts on March 7, 1946 he was a son of Louise Pendleton and the late Earl Francis Pendleton. Mr. Pendleton proudly served his country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War and the Marines were very important to him even after his honorable discharge in 1971. Over the years, Wayne was self-employed as a painter. Mr. Pendleton loved animals, particularly dogs. He also was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He leaves behind five children: Brooke Pendleton, Travis McKenzie, Corey Pendleton, Fawn Halko, Wayne Pendleton Jr.; one sister: Eileen Johnson; two brothers: Rick Pendleton, Randy Pendleton; nine grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Pendleton was predeceased by three children: Sean Michael Pendleton, Melissa Pendleton, Keith Pendleton and one sister: Darlene Pendleton. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 8:00-9:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Children's room available during visitation. Burial to follow at 10:45 AM in Massachusetts National Cemetery, MacArthur Boulevard in Bourne with Full Military Honors.
