Wayne Robert Mello, Sr., 58, of McKeon Drive, North Attleboro, died at his residence on Saturday, June 7, 2014. He was the beloved and treasured husband of Ana Paula (Santos) Mello to whom he was married on July 1, 1979. Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on November 16, 1955, he was a son of the late George L. and Clara R. (Lavallee) Mello. He was raised and educated in his native city of Woonsocket where he was a 1974 graduate of Woonsocket High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Stonehill College in Easton in 1997. He was a resident of North Attleboro since 1978 and was a communicant of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro Falls. A gentle soul, Wayne will be remembered for his unique dedication and success in his professional career and his passion for traveling the world to tropical destinations or favorite historical sites. With an extreme love for his cherished family and his contagious smile, he spent countless time in the home he built, meticulously maintained and enjoyed it to his last day. Mr. Mello was employed as a Global Commodity Manager for Teradyne, Inc. in North Reading for 35 years. In addition to his wife, he leaves two children: Wayne Robert Mello, Jr. of Hudson and Tanya P. DiGeorge of Litchfield, New Hampshire; a stepdaughter: Cristina P. Corbeil of Attleboro; a stepson: Richard C. Arruda, III of Rehoboth; his grandchildren: Emma, JJ, Savanah, Mikayla, Hailey, Ashley, Amber and Ricky and many extended family members and dear friends. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 9:00 AM at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, Stanley Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Thomas Frechette, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be private. A children's room is available during visitation. There will be no funeral cortege from the funeral home prior to commencement of the Funeral Mass.
