December 15, 1958 — September 9, 2025

North Attleborough

Wayne R. Jewett, 66, of North Attleboro, MA., passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved father of the late Zachary “Zack” Jewett.

Born in Attleboro, MA., on December 15, 1958, he was the beloved son of the late Elaine (Como) Jewett and Gerald Jewett.

Wayne was an academic scholar and believed strongly in the value of higher education. He led by example and encouraged his children as well as his siblings children to pursue knowledge through school. He attended Northeastern University and Bryant University to gain his masters in business administration. He used this educational background to foster a career in finance, as well as to teach his children how to be self-sufficient.

Wayne was a passionate sports fan, specifically for New England teams. He often scheduled his life around the games, spending time with family cheering for well-loved players. He made time to be involved in his children’s athletic endeavors. He taught them all to ride bikes, ice skate, and swim. He himself was on the crew team in college and was a prolific runner for most of his life.

During the 2000’s, Wayne was involved in activism and support through a group called Parents Without Partners. He cared deeply about the well-being of others, and kept in touch with many members after the group disbanded.

His career culminated in a 20 year stretch at Bryant University, in the Bursar’s office. He experienced a brief retirement beginning in 2023. During that time he dedicated himself to looking after his yard and garden, some referred to him as a garden gnome. He began re-learning how to play the guitar. He enjoyed going out for dinner and beers with his nephews. He appreciated being able to dig into his record collection and share his passion of music with anybody who would listen.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Desiree’ Sharples and her husband Tom of East Providence, RI and Chelsea R. Jewett of North Attleboro, MA. He is also survived by his siblings, Deborah Bergeron and her husband Jim, Penny Kuffrey and her husband Russell, Gerry “Scott” Jewett and his wife Dianne, and Tracy Tenhave and her husband Mike, his Aunt Joyce and Uncle Donnie Mayer and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
