Wanda Eleanora Swanson

Wanda Eleanora (Skalak) Swanson, 93, of Rehoboth, MA, peacefully passed away at her home on Saturday, September 17, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late George Kenut Per Swanson.Born on February 16, 1923 in Central Falls, RI, she was the daughter of the late Zygmunt Cyril Skalk and the late Eleanora (Trela) Skalak. Wanda was a graduate of William E. Tolman Senior High School in Pawtucket, RI, and worked for many years as a Quality Control Inspector for Colby Glass Company in Taunton, MA and for Corning Glass Works in Pawtucket, before retiring in 1985.A resident of Rehoboth since 1930, she was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church in Seekonk, MA. Wanda enjoyed cooking, visiting friends, and truly valued time spent with her cherished children and grandchildren.She is survived by her children: Mark Andrew Swanson and his wife, Patricia A. Turgeon, of Philadelphia, NY, and Kevin Lee Swanson and his wife, Susanne W. Swanson, of Rehoboth, MA; and her adoring grandchildren: Jared Lee Swanson, Tara Lynn Swanson, and Mary Ingrid Eleanora Swanson. She was the sister of the late Edwin Skalak, the late Elsie (Skalak) Bellavance, and the late Lind (Skalak) Regan.Visitation has respectfully been omitted.Burial will be private.
