Walter "Walt" Armand LaFlamme, 84, of North Attleboro, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Kindred Northeast Hospital in Stoughton. He was the husband of Mildred Theresa (Nelson) LaFlamme to whom he was married on June 30, 1951. Born in Canada on July 1, 1929, he was a son of the late Armand and Violet (Grant) LaFlamme. Mr. LaFlamme was a graduate of Tolman High School. Walt was employed as a quality control manager at Texas Instruments for over 32 years prior to his retirement in 1994. He also worked at Benny's in North Attleboro for over 20 years. Mr. LaFlamme was active with "Big Brothers and Big Sisters" and enjoyed skiing. He loved to putter around the house doing yard work, especially making flower gardens with his daughter and building a replica of a lighthouse with his grandson. Family was very important to Walt. In addition to his wife of sixty-two years; Walt is survived by his daughter: Sherry Ann DaRocha and her husband, Roberto C. DaRocha of North Attleboro; four sisters and two brothers: George LaFlamme of Seekonk; Armand LaFlamme of East Providence, RI; Jane Schiappa of Las Vegas, NV; Connie David of Coventry, RI; Irene Scolavino of Hope, RI; and Alice Reis of Newport, RI; two grandchildren: Robert W. and Austin T. DaRocha. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. He was the brother of the late Shirley Salhany, Robert LaFlamme, and Nellie Merola. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a funeral service with full military honors immediately following visitation at 12:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home. Childrens room is available during the visitation and funeral service. Burial will be private.
