Walter R. Blake, 82, of Hazelwood Avenue, Attleboro; formerly of Brookline; died at his residence on Monday, May 5, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Winterport, Maine on June 2, 1931, he was a son of the late Lyman and Margaret (Eaton) Blake. Mr. Blake was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed as a custodian and maintenance employee of M K Realty in Brookline for 40 years prior to his retirement on March 14, 2014. Just a month ago, Mr. Blake moved to the City of Attleboro to reside with his daughter after having lived in Brookline for the past 20 years. A self-proclaimed ardent gambler, Mr. Blake enjoyed times spent at Foxwoods and Twin River Casinos. He leaves two children: Rosemary A. Marks and her husband, Robert A. Marks, in Louisiana and Nancy J. Blake, wife of the late John Rizzotto who died on June 22, 2013, with whom he was residing in Attleboro; six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a sister: Grace Saulnier of Largo, Florida; his longtime employers and dear friends: Rose, Steven and Michelle Koplow and Chaya (Koplow) Rosenberg; his grand dogs: Remy, a ten-year old Australian Shepard and Keno, a three-year old Australian Shepard and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Virginia Blake, Ellen Cray, George Blake, John Blake and Lucille Nelson. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation with Veteran's Honors on SATURDAY, MAY 10, 2014 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the DYER-LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
