Vivianne H. Svoboda

Vivianne H. (Reiner) Svoboda, 69, of Harding Avenue, South Attleboro, died on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Hospice Center in Providence, Rhode Island. She was the companion of the late George A. Salvas who died on August 27, 2007. Born in Alexandria, Egypt on September 15, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Kurt P. and Gladys (Benyaear) Reiner. She lived in Egypt until the 7-day War when she moved to Vienna, Austria at the age of ten months. She lived in Austria until moving to Providence, Rhode Island at the age of ten. Ms. Svoboda later moved to Indiana and relocated back to New England during the Blizzard of 1978 when she settled in Attleboro where she has remained a resident. Prior to her retirement, Ms. Svoboda was employed as a data entry supervisor for Engelhard Industries in Plainville for more than 20 years. She served as a Captain in the Civil Air Patrol. Ms. Svoboda attended the former Bryant College, now Bryant University, and Bristol Community College. In earlier years, she and her family originated the Bingo program at Agudas Achim, Attleboro. Her favorite pastimes included playing bingo and time spent on Facebook. However, her most treasured times were those spent with her cherished grandchildren. She leaves three children: Lisa A. Hathaway and her husband, David, of Taunton; Laura L. Geisel and her husband, Paul, of South Attleboro and Richard F. Svoboda, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Tiverton, Rhode Island; four grandchildren: Kayla Marie Hathaway of Taunton; Brooke Geisel of South Attleboro and twins: Daniel R. Svoboda and Aiden W. Svoboda both of Tiverton, Rhode Island; a brother: Robin Reiner in Florida and several extended family members and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Peter Reiner. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with Rabbi Elyse Wechterman, officiating. Burial will follow in the Hebrew Cemetery, Attleboro. Shiva will be observed privately. In accordance with Jewish custom please do not send flowers.
