Virginia Faye Stevens

Virginia Faye (Johnson) Stevens, 87, of North Attleboro, died on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the sixteen year companion of William J. Killarney with whom she resided. Mrs. Stevens was the wife of the late H. Russell Stevens, Jr. Born at the family homestead in Rehoboth, Massachusetts on May 29, 1926, she was one of eleven children born to the late Harry T. and Dora A. (Case) Johnson. Mrs. Stevens resided in Rehoboth prior to moving to the City of Attleboro where she was a resident for more 40 years prior to moving to North Attleboro in 1989. She attended Second Congregational Church in Attleboro. Mrs. Stevens was employed by Englehardt Industries in Plainville for 12 years prior to her retirement in 1980. She enjoyed knitting, embroidering, reading, crocheting and taking day trips to Plymouth. In addition to her companion, Mrs. Stevens leaves two children: Jeffrey S. Stevens and his wife, Janice A. Stevens, of Cumberland, Rhode Island and Gregory T. Stevens of Attleboro; seven grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was anxiously expecting the arrival of her ninth great grandchild. She was the mother of the late David C. Stevens who died on June 3, 2007 and the late Timothy H. Stevens who died on February 19, 2005. Mrs. Stevens was predeceased by all of her siblings: Charles Johnson, Herbert Johnson, Clifford Johnson, Harry Johnson, Gladys McKearney, Dora Proulx, Ann Orrs, Charlotte LaPage, Clara Compton and Hazel Robinson. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the DYER-LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. For those in need of a ride to visitation simply call (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for gratis transportation. Flowers are accepted. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 9:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the DYER-LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Attleboro. Children's room available during visitation and the funeral service.
