Viola Roselma St. John, 95, of Madonna Manor, North Washington Street, North Attleboro; formerly of Elm Terrace and Church Street, North Attleboro and Plainville; died peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro. Born in Franklin, Massachusetts on August 23, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Lucy (Parent) St. John. She was raised and educated in Franklin where she was a 1936 graduate of Franklin High School. For many years prior to her retirement Miss St. John was employed as an inspector at Whiting and Davis in Plainville. She was a proud, private and independent woman. Miss St. John leaves three generations of nieces and nephews including John A. McCarthy of Wrentham; her great niece: Linda Pope and her husband, Gregory Pope, of North Attleboro; her great nephew: Michael P. McCarthy and his wife, Christine (Johnson) McCarthy, of North Attleboro. Visitation and funeral services will be private in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Private burial will be in Wrentham Centre Cemetery, Wrentham.
