Vasant Poonamchand Shah

Vasant Poonamchand Shah, 79, of Westwood, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2022, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham, MA. He was the beloved husband of Nila Vasant (Kothari) Shah.
Born on January 2, 1943, in Mumbai, India, he was the son of the late Poonamchand Shah and the late Shanta (Malani) Shah.
A resident of Westwood for more than twenty years, Vasant held his bachelor's degree and was employed for many years as an accountant before retiring.
In addition to his wife, Nila, he leaves his loving children: Sweta Mepani and her husband, Chetan Mepani, of Westwood, MA; and Brinda Kiralani and her husband, Kamal Kirpalani, of Cambridge, MA. He was the proud and adoring grandfather of four grandchildren and one great-grandchild and leaves his extended family and many dear friends both in the United States and in India.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation and Traditional Hindu Ritual service on Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A Traditional Final Prayer and Cremation Service will be privately held at Woodlawn North Purchase Crematory, Attleboro, MA.
