Thomas Edward Whipple, 55, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. He was the beloved husband of Michelle R. (Durand) Whipple, whom he married on October 26, 1991.
Born on February 6, 1964 in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of Robert Whipple of Salem, NH and the late Margaret (Robichaud) Whipple.
Raised and educated in Salem, NH, Thomas was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1982, and received his Associate degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University in 1985. A resident of Attleboro since 1989, he was employed by the Sun Chronicle newspaper in the distribution department before becoming disabled.
An ardent fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, he enjoyed playing Strat-O-Matic baseball; listening to 70's and 80's music, especially disco and rock; and visits to Hampton Beach.
In addition to his wife and his father, Thomas leaves his loving son, Colin J. Whipple of Attleboro. He was the brother of Paul Whipple of Salem, MA, Cindy Whipple of Salem, MA, and Joyce Whipple of Haverhill, MA. He leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, his extended family, and many dear friends.
Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember Thomas by gathering for a Memorial Visitation on Monday, January 20, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
Burial will be private.
