Thomas Joseph Slavin, 51, of B.A. Drive, North Attleboro, died on Friday, November 16, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family following a one-year illness. He was the spouse of Clifford J. Bouvier with whom he shared 26 years and was married on February 11, 2007. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 27, 1960, he was a son of the late Herbert W. Slavin, Sr. and Marion Louise (Walker) Slavin. He was raised and educated in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston and attended St. Mark's School and Dorchester High School. Mr. Slavin was formally employed as a sales representative at the Nike store in Wrentham Outlets and had also been employed part time at Steven's Market on Smith Street in North Attleboro. A residence of North Attleboro for more than ten years, Mr. Slavin previously lived in Chelsea for 9 years and in South Boston. He will be lovingly remembered for being a devoted caregiver to his family and for the pride he took in maintaining his home. He was a man of strong spiritual faith and treasured the times spent creating lifelong memories with his beloved spouse and partner, Cliff and with his siblings and two generations of nieces and nephews. Mr. Slavin enjoyed watching movies and was a "crazy" Boston Red Sox fan. For the past seven years he was a Friend of Bill W. In addition to Cliff, he leaves a brother: Ronald F. Slavin and his wife, Laurie, of Endicott, New York; three sisters: Jean E. (Slavin) Sova and her husband, Paul, of North Attleboro; Patricia A. (Slavin) Duggan and her husband, Richie, of Belmont, New Hampshire and Maureen F. (Slavin) Boutilette of Dorchester; two generations of cherished nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, members of the Bouvier family and countless friends. He was the brother of the late Herbert W. Slavin, Jr. and the late Daniel L. Slavin. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 4:00- 9:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Those in need of local transportation to visitation may simply call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral service in Celebration of His Life on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Kelly K. Thibeault, Pastor of the First Congregational Church, North Attleboro, officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro. Children's room available during visitation and the funeral service. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced. Please do not send flowers.
