Thomas
Rainville
Aug 13, 1950 — Aug 9, 2026
Thomas (Tom) Rainville, 75, of Attleboro, MA passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on Sunday, August 9th, 2026. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed.
Tom was born on August 13, 1950 in Attleboro, MA to Mary Rainville (Yoder) and Edmund Rainville. He was the oldest of 7 children, Donald Rainville of Moss Beach, CA, James Rainville and wife, Susan of Westport, MA, Michael Rainville and wife Ellen of Conway, MA, Robert Rainville and wife Edwarda of Attleboro, MA, Nancy Yeshnik (Rainville) and husband Mark of Herndon, VA, and Judith McSweeney (Rainville) and husband Joseph of Albuquerque, NM. In his youth he was a helpful older brother, a hardworking student and an engaged community member. He married his high school sweetheart, Jenny Rainville (Johnson) and they built a beautiful life together.
As an adult, Tom embodied a wonderful balance of being a steady caretaker and remaining young at heart. He had many hobbies and interests including fishing, car racing, gardening and painting. But most of his energy and pride came from his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a true family man. From the simple daily tasks of making school lunches, helping with homework and reading bedtime stories to big family events like holidays, vacations and coaching sports teams, Tom was involved in every part of his children's lives. He continued his joy of parenting as he became a grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 2; trading in some of the responsibility for more of the fun.
Professionally, Tom was a toolmaker, spending most of his career at Neu Tool Design in his hometown of Attleboro, MA. He designed and built intricate molds for manufacturing. He was highly regarded in his field as both creative and detail-oriented.
During his passing family from near and far were able to gather and support one another through an informal celebration of life. It was a wonderful testament to how impactful he was to the lives of many.
Tom is survived by his three daughters and their families. Crystal Rainville-Ahmed of Walpole, MA, her husband Diar Ahmed and their three children, Lily, Miles and August. Shelley Fisher (Rainville) of Attleboro, MA, her husband Jeff Fisher, their three children, Jada, Calvin and Ella, and two grandsons, Walker and Milo. Carrie Rainville-Collins of Sharon, MA, her husband Kevin Collins and their two children, Nina and Marty. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Jenny Rainville (Johnson).
Services will be held at Dyer Lake Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 18th. Calling hours will be from 3pm to 6pm with a brief service beginning at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Hope Health Hospice and Palliative Care, the organization provides wonderful support to families and patients through the most difficult time in their lives.
