Thomas Monteith Vibert, 71, of Commonwealth Avenue, Attleboro Falls, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at his residence. He was the husband of Jacqueline Mae (Wenner) Vibert to whom he was married on August 31, 1957. Born in Farmington, CT on July 4, 1931, he was a son of the late Robert King and Marjorie (Monteith) Vibert. He was raised and educated in Farmington where he was a 1949 graduate of Farmington High School. He was a 1953 graduate of the former Arnold College, now the University of Bridgeport, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in physical education. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served from December 1953 ? July 1955 during the Korean War era. Mr. Vibert resided in North Attleboro since 1980 and was previously a resident of Seekonk. As an educator, he was employed at the Perkiomen Preparatory School in Pennsylvania as a teacher from 1956 ? 1958; at the Pembroke Country Day School from 1959 ? 1969 and at Wheeler School on the East Side of Providence from 1969 until his retirement in 1990. Mr. Vibert was a member of the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro. As a Mason, he was a member of the Evening Star Lodge #101 A.F. & A.M. in Connecticut and was a volunteer with the Hockomock Area Y.M.C.A. in North Attleboro. He enjoyed writing, photography and painting. In addition to his wife of 45 years, he leaves five daughters: Andrea M. Kumlin of Seekonk; Michelle M. Melo of Billerica, MA; Allison G. Stickles of Marion, MA; Leslie L. Vibert of North Attleboro and Jamison R. Smida of Stafford, CT; a son: Thomas M. Vibert II of West Palm Beach, FL; a sister: Isabel G. Benton of Danbury, CT; a brother: William M. Vibert of Granby, CT; 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ruthven M. Vibert, Robert K. Vibert, Peter L. Vibert and John W. Vibert. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Funeral Services with Veteran?s Honors on Monday, May 12, 2003 at 10:00 AM in the ?Commonwealth Chapel? of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with Ruth Shaver, Director of Christian Education and Youth Ministry at Second Congregational Church, Attleboro, officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro. Visitation with Veteran?s Honors will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2003 in the ?Commonwealth Chapel? of the funeral home from 5:00 ? 8:00 PM.
