Thomas Michael Kelly Jr., 91, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away on August 1, 2022, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. He was the beloved husband of Mary A. (Daigle) Kelly, whom he married on June 21, 1958.
Born in New Bedford, MA, on June 4, 1931, he was a son of the late Thomas Michael Kelly Sr., and the late Stella Louise (Souza) Kelly. He was raised and educated in the City of New Bedford and attended college before enlisting in the United States Army.
He resided in North Attleboro for the past 20 years, having moved to the community from the City of Attleboro.
Mr. Kelly was employed as a crossing guard for more than 20 years for both the City of Attleboro and the Town of North Attleboro.
Thomas enjoyed collecting sports cards and trips to the casino, but truly loved time spent in the company of his large family. He was a member of the Vega Club, Inc. in Brockton, MA.
He is being remembered as a very giving and generous man who was proud of his Irish heritage and routinely said his prayers every night.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children: Ellen Colon of Attleboro, MA; Maureen Kelly of Attleboro, MA; Stella Brown of Attleboro, MA; Michael Kelly of Tampa, FL; John Kelly of Attleboro, MA; and Howard Kelly of North Attleboro, MA. He was the grandfather and great grandfather of many.
He was predeceased by his children: Donna Marie Kelly and Thomas Michael Kelly III; his grandson: Scott Michael Kelly; and his siblings: John Martin Kelly and Ida Kelly Plevik.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation with Veterans Honors on Monday, August 8, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. The Funeral and Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel".
Burial with military honors will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, Taunton, MA.
In lieu of flowers, Thomas' family respectfully requests memorial donations in his memory be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
