Thomas D. Feid, 67, of Spruce Street, North Attleboro, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Constance B. (Alix) Feid to whom he was married on November 21, 1964. Born in North Attleboro, Massachusetts on November 5, 1943, he was a son of the late Charles David and Rita (Cassidy) Feid. He was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro and was a 1961 graduate of North Attleboro High School. Mr. Feid was employed as a cable man for Verizon and many of their predecessors for almost 35 years prior to his retirement in June 2001. He had also been employed as a maintenance worker at the former Millstone Restaurant in North Attleboro and was the owner and operator of an independent lawn maintenance company. He was a lifelong member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 1011 in North Attleboro. Mr. Feid treasured the times spent outdoors especially those spent camping with family and friends and playing golf, tennis and bowling. He enjoyed the peacefulness of taking a walk and traveling with his wife, family and friends throughout the United States and the Caribbean. Playing cards, particularly pitch, and enjoying good food and good times with family and friends was most cherished. He will be lovingly remembered for his strong work ethic that was rewarded by enjoying life. In addition to his wife of almost 47 years, he leaves two daughters: Michelle M. Barbieri and her husband, Timothy J. Barbieri, of North Attleboro and Debra J. Griswold and her husband, Pat Griswold, of North Attleboro; four grandchildren: Nicholas J. Barbieri of North Attleboro; Sydney E. Griswold of North Attleboro; Rachel M. Barbieri of North Attleboro and Hannah J. Griswold of North Attleboro; two sisters: Shirley Landry of Salisbury, North Carolina and Linda Feid of Las Vegas, Nevada; his mother-in-law: Maria (Dargis) Alix, wife of the late Arthur O. Alix, of North Attleboro; a sister-in-law: Suzanne A. Connelly of North Attleboro; two brothers-in-law: Roland Alix and his wife, Ann, of North Attleboro and Roger Alix and his wife, Joan, of North Attleboro; a sister-in-law: Gail Alix, wife of the late Arthur Alix and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 4:00 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. A ritual service conducted by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 1011of North Attleboro will commence at 7:30 PM to conclude visitation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral service on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 8:30 AM from the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 58 Church Street, North Attleboro with the Rev. David A. Costa, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro. Following cemetery services, family and friends will be invited to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
