Thomas (Tom) David Gaudette, 48, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 16, 2021, surrounded by loving family at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI following a brief stay of unexpected declining health at Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
Born at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital on July 11, 1973, he was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro, MA and the son of Thomas Walter Gaudette and Patricia Lee (Adams) Gaudette of North Attleboro, MA.
Tom attended North Attleboro Schools and was a graduate of North Attleboro High School, Class of 1991, and a 1995 graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering. Following graduation, he was employed at Beta Engineering & Sverdrup Corp. in Boston. He also purchased his first investment property, a three-tenement apartment house in Attleboro with his own money. He then started a technology company with one of his college friends. Tom worked hard to achieve his goals and was strong in his beliefs. He loved to help everyone, was always available to lend a helping hand and his best achievement and what he cherished the most was working alongside of his father in the family business and at home until his passing.
He was an avid fan of New England sports and played football, baseball & basketball throughout his childhood years. He also loved cars and was very proud of his first car - a 1969 Cougar he purchased at age 16 by working at odd jobs. He had a great sense of humor and was always coming up with quirky little things and loved to tease his sisters. Tom enjoyed his school years and was friendly with everyone.
Tom loved antique cars, sports, science and the stars, the ocean, computer technology, deep sea fishing, clamming, cape cod, campfires in the moonlight while camping with family and friends everywhere, gardening with his mother, vacations, kayaking with his sister Kelly and all kinds of special family outings and get-togethers. His family feels so blessed and fortunate to have had Tom close by all these years, when so many people now live far away. He will live in our hearts forever.
In addition to his parents, he leaves three sisters: Lori Burgess and her husband, Robert Burgess; Debbie Greve and her husband, Timothy Greve, of East Falmouth, MA and Kelly Smith, wife of the late Bryan Smith, of East Falmouth, MA. He was the loving uncle of Layne, Noah, Genevieve, Skyela, Amanda, Thomas, Jonathan, and Kathryn. Tom also leaves his special godparents: Edward "Ted" and Isabel (Kelleher) Gaudette of Cumberland, Rhode Island.
He was the maternal grandson of the late David Orlando Adams and the late Ruth G. (Barrett) Adams.
He was the paternal grandson of the late Clarence Gaudette and the late Merilda (Dion) Gaudette.
