Thomas Michael Currier

Thomas Michael Currier, 71, of Attleboro, formerly of Hyde Park, MA, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the husband of the late Jean E. (Nichols) Currier, who passed away on September 10, 2005 and the loving and devoted life-long soulmate of Jean A. Phillips. Born in Hyde Park on October 2, 1942, he was a son of the late Louis O. and Marion J. (Warton) Currier. Mr. Currier worked for many years in custodial care at the Y.M.C.A. in Hyde Park, prior to his retirement in 2003. He was a member and Deacon of the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro. Mr. Currier loved to go on cruises, as he went to Bermuda six times on the Norwegian Cruise Lines with Jean. A sports enthusiast, Mr. Currier enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox, the Pawtucket Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He was also an avid walker and fisherman, who loved to listen to Elvis, Johnny Cash and country music. Most important to Mr. Currier were Jean, his children, grandchildren, his friends, his church family and his two cats, Abbey and Starr. In addition to his long-time soulmate of eight years; he is survived by his children: Jean Marie Currier of Brockton; Marion Gale Currier of Hyde Park; Thomas John Currier of Mansfield; two siblings: Joseph Currier and Frances Toye, both of Florida; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Eleanor Walsh, Mary Sharon, and John Currier. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Celebration of his life on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Second Congregational Church, 50 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703, with the Reverend F. Vernon Wright, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be private. Immediately following services, an invitation will be extended to join Mr. Currier's family in Fellowship Hall.
