Thomas "Tom" Crawford Libby, 70, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away at his home on Monday, March 6, 2017 with his beloved wife, Mary Ann (Philbrick) Libby, at his side. Born on January 16, 1947 in Attleboro, MA, he was the son of the late Crawford Thurber Libby and the late Ruth (Thomas) Libby.A graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1965, he received his Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University in 1970. Tom proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Army.A resident of North Attleboro for the past forty-two years, he previously lived in Attleboro, MA. Tom was a successful and well respected Engineer who was proud to have worked for the Foxboro Company in Foxboro, MA, for fifty years before retiring in August 2016. He was a mentor, a teacher, and had the opportunity to travel the world.A skilled woodworker who truly enjoyed carpentry, Tom could frequently be found working on one project or another around his home. He loved sports of most every kind, and was an ardent fan of the Boston Red Sox. He was actively involved with his children's sports and activities when they were younger, and enjoyed coaching baseball, being a Little League coach, a Cub Scout leader who always looked forward to the annual Pinewood Derby, and helping with the Girl Scouts. Tom liked Black Powder shooting, muzzle loading, and archery. Most dear to Tom was his family, whom he simply loved being with.In addition to his wife, Mary Ann, he is survived by his cherished children: Jessica A. (Libby) Hatt and her husband, Scott D. Hatt, of Swansea, NH; Jason Thomas Libby and his wife, Michelle (Paduano) Libby, of Attleboro, MA; and Jacquelyn S. Libby of Hopedale, MA. He was the adoring grandfather of Tiffany E. Libby, Tyler T. Libby, Jayden P. Hatt, Cody Thomas Hatt, and Dillan S. Hatt. Tom was the brother of Nancy (Libby) Adams and her late husband, Russell Adams, of Attleboro, MA, and Susan (Libby) Breen and her husband, Jay Breen, of Scottsdale, AZ. He leaves several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation with Military Honors on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, ¾ mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
