Thomas "Tom" Charles Medeiros, 71, of Attleboro, MA, peacefully passed away at his home on Thursday, May 25, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Ann (Brassard) Medeiros, to whom he was wed on June 13, 1970.Born on June 23, 1945 in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Adelino (Leo) Medeiros and Adeline "Tootsie" (Perreira) Medeiros.A resident of Attleboro for the past forty-six years, he previously lived in Seekonk, MA. Tom worked for many years as a Machine Operator for Texas Instruments in Attleboro before retiring in 2004. Following his retirement, he worked for eight years at Willow Tree Farm, and for five years as a School Crossing Guard for the City of Attleboro.Tom was a longtime member of the South Attleboro Assembly of God, which played a meaningful role in his life. A man of devotion and faith, he enjoyed Bible study. He was truly a warm, kind, caring and generous man; never one to judge or speak unkindly of others, and always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Tom proudly supported Veterans' organizations, and enjoyed fishing. He loved music, especially country, and enjoyed singing. As a younger man, he had been in bands. He treasured the time he spent with family and with his faithful Shih Tzu dog, "Benji", a rescue dog. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his cherished children: Dennis M. Medeiros and his wife, Alison Lynn (Rothemich) Medeiros, of Attleboro, MA; Jane E. (Medeiros) Fontaine and her husband, Robert W. Fontaine, of Attleboro, MA; and Julie A. (Medeiros) Pirri and her husband, Robert W. Pirri, of Bristol, RI. He was the loving father of the late Steven Robert Medeiros who died on November 6, 2006. Tom was the adoring grandfather of Jessica L., Alex M., Lily A., Nicole P., Brooke D., and Angela "Ela" P.; and great-grandfather of Sean, Chace, Zachary and Blake. He is survived by his dear sister, Lorraine "Lori" (Medeiros) Scannell of North Attleboro, MA, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Tom leaves his best friends: Harry Young and Tom Roy, both of Attleboro, MA.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the South Attleboro Assembly of God, 1052 Newport Avenue, Attleboro, MA, immediately followed at 6:00 p.m. by a Funeral Service there with Pastor Jackson officiating.Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Tom's memory to a charity of one's choice benefiting our nation's Veterans.
