Thomas Tommy Arthur Bergquist, 53, of Brookhaven Drive, Attleboro, died unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 following a brief illness. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 20, 1958, he was a son of the late Arthur John and Theresa F. (Richard) Bergquist. He was a member of the graduating class of 1976 at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in Easton. Mr. Bergquist was employed as the utilities manager at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Inc. in Attleboro for the past 25 years. He resided in Attleboro for the past 25 years and was a communicant of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Foxboro. An avid outdoorsman, he also enjoyed fishing and was a devoted NASCAR fan. Mr. Bergquist was a member of the New England Healthcare Engineers Society, Inc. and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #1014 in Attleboro. He was a Third Class Engineer having attended the Peterson School. He leaves two sons: Thomas Arthur T.J. Bergquist, Jr. and Christopher Thomas Bergquist both of Fryeburg, Maine; three sisters: Nancy Elaine Bergquist of Foxboro; Judy Ann Bergquist of Foxboro and Patricia M. Hojlo of Attleboro; a niece: Taryn T. Hojlo of Attleboro and several aunts, cousins, extended family members and dear friends. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 5:00 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on the left) Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 8:30 AM from the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on the left) Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Foxboro with the Rev. Brian Smith, Parochial Vicar, officiating. Burial will be private. Childrens room available during visitation and while the funeral cortege is being organized prior to the funeral Mass. Following church services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the Attleboro Moose Lodge, 241 Thacher Street, Attleboro.
