Thomas "Tom" Albert Eliason

July 16, 1938 — April 26, 2021

Thomas "Tom" Albert Eliason, 82, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, April 26, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Helen G. (McKenna) Eliason, whom he married on June 17, 1961 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro, MA.
Born on July 16, 1938 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Henry Eliason and the late Isabel P. (Downey) Eliason.
Tom grew up in Easton, Nantucket, and Attleboro, MA; summers roving Nantucket were some of his fondest boyhood memories. He was a graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1956, where he was known for his quick wit and athleticism.  He had a successful career working in the concrete industry, first for Northeast Concrete in Plainville, and later as Superintendent for Oldcastle Infrastructure, in Rehoboth, MA.  Tom would proudly point out many of "his" bridges and parking lots.
Tom and Helen raised their four children in North Attleboro, where they shared their home of fifty-four years with open doors to friends and family.  The center of Tom's world was unquestionably his family, and he cherished spending time with them, especially his beloved grandchildren.
A man of faith, he was a longtime member of Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mark in Attleboro Falls.  A truly happy and content man, he had a passion for life and was always up for an adventure. Tom enjoyed rides to the beach; being on the water, gardening, reading, playing cards and taking the ferry to Nantucket with his sister Sue to purchase fresh scallops. Tom was an avid sports fan, especially UConn Women's basketball.  A kind and generous man who was loved by all who knew him, he always made sure of his neighbors' well-being.
In addition to Helen, his wife of fifty-nine years, he leaves his loving children:  Kerstin E. LaMontagne and her husband, Gregg LaMontagne, of Amesbury, MA; Gretchen A. (Eliason) McDonald and her husband, John McDonald, of Worthington, MA; Lee E. Eliason and her fiancé, Robert "Bob" Elston of North Attleboro, MA; and Thomas F. Eliason and his wife, Kendra C. Eliason, of Sturbridge, MA.  He was the proud and adoring grandfather of Carly Z. Murphy and her husband, Kevin Murphy; Meagan E. LaMontagne; Julia H. LaMontagne; Colin T. Eliason; Nathan H. Eliason; Katherine C. Eliason; Aine L. McDonald; and Isaac Eliason.  Tom was the brother of Susanna Baker of Swansea, MA, and Peter Eliason of Florida, and the stepbrother of the late Richard Neary and his wife, Dorothy Neary.  He leaves several nieces and nephews, his extended family, and many, many dear friends.
