Theresa Marie Shearer

Theresa Marie (Astarita) Shearer, 75, of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. She was the loving companion for twenty-five years of David Barsam of Waltham, MA. Born on August 20, 1942 in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Viola) Astarita. A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design. Theresa worked for many years in jewelry retail sales and as a decorator for Sears, before retiring.A resident of North Attleboro since 1974, she previously lived in New York. She was an avid walker, often walking five miles a day, and enjoyed shopping and home decorating. Theresa was the loving and beloved mother of Donald S. Shearer and his wife, Denise (Fisher) Shearer, of NJ; Thomas K. Shearer and his wife, Arielle D. (Kessellman) Shearer, of Franklin, MA; and Christine A. (Shearer) Martisius of Cumberland, RI. She was the adoring grandmother of Edward P. Martisius, Michael J. Martisius, Samantha Shearer, Amanda Shearer, Miranda Shearer, Alexander J. Shearer, and Joshua C. Shearer. She was the dear sister of Joanne Drury and her husband, Patrick Drury, of Danbury, CT; and leaves her niece, Deborah McCoy, and her nephew, Patrick Drury.
