Theresa Louise (Whalen) Rivera, 75, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away on January 27, 2023, at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro where she had been a resident for more than a year.
Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on January 12, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Hazel Doane. She resided in North Attleboro since August 2021, and was a previous resident of Rehoboth, Attleboro and the State of Maine. Her younger years were spent in Foxboro, MA and Walpole, MA.
She was employed as a member of the housekeeping department at Golden Living Center in Attleboro and was a former employee of Augat Company, LeachGarner and the Reeves Company all in Attleboro.
Taking walks with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren were among her favorite pastimes. Her family fondly recalls her strong work ethic and the example it set for others.
Theresa was the mother of Bryan Whalen and his wife, Bonnie, of Mansfield, MA, William Brauneis, III of Attleboro, MA, Christopher Brauneis of Sealy, Texas; Laura Simon of Barrington, Rhode Island and Amy Rivera of Rehoboth, MA; grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Loving sister of Thomas P. Whalen and Peter J. Whalen both of Brockton, MA; James F. Doane and his wife, Mary, of Mansfield, MA; Steven W. Doane of Mansfield, MA; Susan E. Marvel of Attleboro, MA; Sally A. Lucier of Taunton, MA; Kevin P. Doane and his wife, Julie, of Wareham, MA and the late Kathryn R. Whalen, Donna M. Potter, David M. Doane and Barry J. Doane
She was predeceased by her grandson, Aaron Rivera, and her great grandson, Clint Brauneis and many siblings.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Friday, February 3, 2023, anytime between 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Burial will be private.
