Theresa M. (Cerreto) Burton Mulligan, 92, of North Washington Street, North Attleboro; formerly of Attleboro; died on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Madonna Manor in North Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Bazil B. Mulligan, Jr. who died in 1986 and was the former spouse of the late Edward F. Burton, Sr. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on July 10, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Domenic and Pauline (Costa) Cerreto. She was raised and educated in the City of Attleboro and remained a lifelong resident until moving to Madonna Manor in North Attleboro. Mrs. Mulligan was employed as an office worker and secretary for Artcraft Company Inc. in Attleboro Falls for 20 years prior to retiring at the age of 65. She was a longtime communicant of the former Holy Ghost Church, now St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro. Her favorite pastimes included time spent cooking, baking, crocheting, playing Nintendo and trips to the casino. However, her fondest times and memories were those spent reciting family stories and socializing with her beloved family as they sat outside in the backyard and on the porch. She leaves her children: John R. Burton and his wife, Joyce Burton, of Florida; Kenneth G. Burton of Warwick, Rhode Island; Judy M. (Burton) Cataloni of Attleboro and Lawrence W. Burton of Burlington, North Carolina; a stepson: Brian Mulligan of Raynham; 23 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; her siblings: Joseph L. Cerreto of Attleboro; Mary Boutin of Somerville, South Carolina; Luigi Cerreto of Norton and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was the mother of the late Edward F. Burton, Jr., Geraldine P. Montella, Ronald J. Burton and James J. Burton and was the maternal grandmother of the late Roxanne J. Greeley. She was the sister of the late Dominic Cerreto, Anna Pearson, Pauline Sweet and Elizabeth Courchense. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home-the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Mr. Anthony Cipriano, S.F.O. of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, officiating. Children's room available during visitation and the funeral service.
