Thelma "Petey" Jane Drummond, 96, of Providence, RI; went home to be with the Lord on September 25, 2021, at Elmhurst Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Providence, Rhode Island following a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Russell Frederick Drummond who passed on February 25, 2008.
Born in Rochester, Pennsylvania on August 21, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Lucien N. Butler and Jesse Pearle "J.P." (Clear) Butler. She was raised and educated in Rochester, she resided in East Providence and Pawtucket prior to moving to Providence.
Mrs. Drummond was employed as a customer service representative for the former New England Telephone Company for 20 years prior to retiring in 1986.
She was a member of St. Matthews Trinity Lutheran Church in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
Her favorite pastimes included reading and listening to religious music.
Left to mourn her loss is her daughter: Constance D. Turner and her companion, Frank J. Scolly, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; two grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Richard Drummond and was the sister of the late Caroline A. Jacoby, Evelyn L. Tate, and Verna R. Barch.
Visitation has been respectfully omitted.
Family and friends will be cordially invited to attend a Memorial Service in Celebration of Her Life on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthews Trinity Lutheran Church, 690 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
Burial will be private.
