Susan ("Sue" & "Suzie") E. (Robinson) Winship, 76, of North Attleboro, MA passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 6, 2021, at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA following a period of declining healthfollowing cancer treatments. She was the beloved wife of the late Timothy Scott Winship who died on May 3, 1992.
Born in Syracuse, New York on May 16, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Franklin C. Robinson and the late Bess (Hamblin) Robinson. Raised and educated in New York, Sue resided in the City of Attleboro briefly before moving to North Attleboro in 1970.
A woman of strong faith, she was a decades-long member of the Central Congregational Church in the Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. At Central Congregational Church, she was the longtime church treasurer, served as a church trustee and organized many of the annual church events such as the apple pie sale, the auction, rummage, plant and yard sales.
Sue had been employed by the former Baldwin's Office Supplies store in downtown North Attleboro, was a bank teller at the former North Attleboro Federal Credit Union, and lastly was employed as an assistant florist at the North Attleboro Stop and Shop store for more than 10 years.
Left to mourn her loss are her three adored sons: Scott R. Winship and his wife, Lisa, of Groveland, MA; Chad L. Winship and his wife, Kimberly, of North Attleboro, MA; and Matthew J. Winship and his wife, Sara, of Cumming, GA; five cherished grandchildren: Timothy Winship and his wife Tracy of Norfolk, John and Sabrina Winship of North Attleboro, MA and Madison and Alexander Winship of Cumming, GA; her sister-in-law: Catherine ("Katie") T. Winship and her partner Doris Allred of Belfast, Maine and several extended family members, dear friends and members of her church community.
She was the sister of the late Sandra Irwin.
Visitation has been respectfully omitted.
Relatives and friends will be cordially invited to attend a joint Celebration of Life Service for Sue and a service honoring her late husband, Timothy's, 30th anniversary of his passing in May 2022.
Private burial services will be held in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sue's honor may be made to the Memorial Gift Fund of Central Congregational Church, P.O. Box 1319, Attleboro Falls, MA 02763.
