Born on March 7, 1934 in Oshkosh, WI, he was the son of the late Kermit and Leah (Keeper) Werdin.
A graduate of Oshkosh High School, Class of 1953, Stuart proudly and honorably served our country for twenty-one years as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1975.
Stuart was a member of the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro. He enjoyed playing and watching sports of most every kind. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan before coming to New England, and fast became a Patriots fan, as well. He traveled extensively during his years in the Air Force, having been stationed in Wyoming, Hawaii, England, France, California, Arizona, Turkey, and Germany. He and Carolyn enjoyed long yearly visits to New Hampshire, Maine, Cape Cod, and Lake George, NY, and trips back to Wisconsin to visit family and friends. He held a special place in his heart for his late "furry children" dogs: "Penny", "Budweiser", "Molly", and "Holly".
In addition to being survived by his wife, Carolyn, he was the father of Pamela of WY, and her late husband, Jim; Scott of WI, and his wife, Doris; and the late Randall. He leaves four grandchildren: Sarah; Randall Jr.; Amy and her husband, Tom; and Andrea; and three great-grandchildren: Max; Will; and Zach. He was the brother of Vanis Bettin and her husband, Robert, and leaves his in-law family: Bruce and his wife, Sandra "Sandy", of North Attleboro, MA; Ashley, her husband, Adam, and their children: Odette, Edward, and Ira; and Brent and Sarah, and their children: Oliver and Everett.
