Steven Allen Burgess, 58, of Burt Street, Norton, died on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the husband of June (Hutchins) Burgess to whom he was married on June 12, 2010. Born in Plymouth, Massachusetts on October 25, 1954, he was a son of the late Edward W. and Idella (Wade) Burgess. He was a 1973 graduate of Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston. For the past nine years, Mr. Burgess was employed by the Brockton Enterprise Newspaper and was formerly employed by Edaville Railroad. A resident of Norton for more than three years, Mr. Burgess previously resided in Taunton. His favorite pastimes included woodworking, metal detecting, creating sand art, painting and touring the back roads of New England. In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter: Amber Burgess; a sister: Linda Burgess Warner and her husband, Lenny Warner, of Kingston; a brother: Ronnie Burgess of Taunton and two generations of nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. Visitation was respectfully omitted. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Celebration of His Life on Saturday, April 6, 2013 anytime from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at the Knights of Columbus, 91 South Street, Kingston, Massachusetts. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave - Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062-5040.
