Steven Henry Bell

December 29, 1952 — May 7, 2020

Steven Henry Bell, 67, died on Thursday, May 7, 2020, of complications from Parkinson's disease.
He was born on December 29, 1952 in Waltham, MA, the son of Joseph and Beverly Bell.
He, his twin brother Bob, and their older brother Joe, grew up in Burlington, where their father worked as a portrait photographer.
Steve earned dual certificates in Video Production and Post-Production at Rhode Island School of Design in 2007 and began his second career as a videographer working for AXON shortly thereafter. Previously, he worked for Helix Technologies as an engineering technician for 29 years, during which time he patented a cryogenic charging manifold.
In 1995, Steve married Jaime Allison Beattie, an engineer and accomplished violinist, and together they welcomed Allison Virginia Bell on February 26, 1996. Tragically, Jaime died at age 43 from metastatic melanoma. In 2005, Steve met playwright Charlotte Meehan and her three-year-old daughter Margot Alice Hopkins. They married in 2009 and together made a very happy blended family with their two daughters.
An avid skier, hiker, and nature photographer, Steve was an exceptional observer of people and life, as well as a pithy jokester. He often said his memoir would be called Racing to the Starting Line, because he felt like a late bloomer. The truth of his life lies in a curious mind and an open heart. With Charlotte, his love can be found in their daughters, and in all their family members' and friends' children and babies, his greatest delight.
Steve is survived by Charlotte, daughters Allison and Margot, brothers Joe and Bob, mothers-in law Olive and Barbara, father-in-law Alan, sisters-in-law Katie, Eunice, Gwyn, Marsha, Andrea, Theresa, and Catherine, brothers-in-law Rich, Larry, James, Richard S., Richard H., and Paul, nieces Emilie, Taylor, Natalie, Chelsea, Karin, Amber, Natasha, and Molly, and nephews Erick, Timothy, John, Carl, Mark, James, Daniel, Hans, and Aidan, great nephews and nieces Joseph, Lily, Timothy, Skylar, Wendy, Melody, Mary Claire, Zellie, London, Damien, Mia, Jordan, and Dominic, in addition to many friends from Wheaton College and the North Attleboro Rock Steady Boxing (for Parkinson's disease) community.
A Private Graveside Service will be held for Steve on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 in Mt. Hope Cemetery and Arboretum. North Attleboro, MA.
