Steven M. Austin

Steven Michael Austin, 48, of Cumberland, Rhode Island; formerly of Attleboro, MA; passed away on September 3, 2023, at Boston Medical Center after having been stricken ill unexpectedly days earlier while fishing with his son.
Born in Attleboro, MA on May 10, 1975, he was a son of Barbara Anne (Pernock) Austin and her husband, Victor Waseleski, of Foxboro, MA and the late John Francis Austin.
Following high school, he attended a technical trade school and later became a licensed plumber and pipe fitter.  He was  the longtime owner and operator of STP Plumbing in North Attleboro, MA for many years.
He was a member of the Mansfield Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks - Mansfield Lodge #2633.
His favorite pastimes included fresh water fishing, hiking, cooking and then eating his preparations, playing the guitar and most of all creating lifelong memories with his beloved family.  He will be lovingly remembered for being very social and charismatic.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, he leaves his cherished children: Emily N. Austin-Horton and her husband, Zach, of Providence, RI; Matthew T. Austin of Cumberland, RI; Isabelle H. Austin and her significant other, D.J. Gagnon, of Providence, RI; Nathan  M. Austin of Mansfield, MA; Zachariah J. Antu of Cumberland, RI; Maverick J. Austin of Cumberland, RI and Hendrix R. Austin of Cumberland, RI; his siblings: Joseph H. Austin and his wife, Grace Austin, of Easton, MA; Tina M. Austin of Cumberland, RI and Kimberly A. Austin Moody and her significant other, Derek Drake, of Attleboro, MA; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
He was expecting twin grandchildren in the near future and was predeceased by his nephew, the late Avery Austin.
Steven also was the very close friend of Bill Dowdy, Johnny Divine, Kenny Brennick and the late Tom Fish.
Family and friends are welcome to attend Visitation on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Foxboro VFW Hall.  All are welcome.
Burial will be private.
