Stanley Moskal, 92, of Niantic, CT passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London, CT. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Strange) Moskal to whom he was married on April 14, 1951. Born in Fall River, MA on November 5, 1921 he was a son of the late John and Agnes (Capp) Moskal. Mr. Moskal attended Dighton High School and graduated from New York Trade School in 1946. He grew up in Berkley, MA and moved to Saratoga Springs in 1953 and then to his permanent home in Niantic, CT in 1953, and was employed by General Dynamics/Electric Boat in Groton, CT as an Electrician and Inspector until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the local IBEW # 261 and a Past President of the Retirees Club. He was also a life member of the Groton CT Elks Club. Mr. Moskal served in the Army Air Force as a Technical Sergeant during World War II in Southeast Asia until his discharge in 1945. He earned several military awards including the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater campaign ribbon, American Theater Campaign ribbon and the Victory Medal. Mr. Moskal was a man full of life, who was big-hearted and enjoyed helping others. He was a joke teller who thrived on making people feel special. Most of all, he loved and was devoted to his family. He was known for his love of the Boston Red Sox and the UCONN women's basketball team. He was an avid gardener. In addition to his wife, Mr. Moskal leaves five daughters: Susan Hagarty of Killingly, CT; Carol Condon of Tucson, Arizona; Cynthia Bayreuther of Niantic, CT; Beverly Capozzoli of Cranston, RI and Betsy Gadbois of Norwich CT; one sister: Celia Kenney of Assonet, MA; two brothers: Frank Moskal and John Moskal both of Berkley, MA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister: Anna (Moskal) Chodkowski and one brother: Paul Moskal.
