Shirley A. Lane

Shirley A. Lane (Governo) 89 of Attleboro, MA., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack A. Lane.
Born in Attleboro, MA., on March 4, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Evelyn (Simmons) Governo.
Shirley was a member of the Balfour Gold Dusters. She was an avid book reader and enjoyed doing word searches in her later years. Shirley could be found every Friday night having dinner with her sisters. Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving children, Bradford S. Lane and his wife Lois of Hilton Head, SC., Jeffery A. Lane of Attleboro, MA., Laurie A. Mattos and her husband Gary of Norton, MA., Richard B. Lane of Attleboro, MA., and Robert T. Lane and his wife Tracy of Attleboro, MA. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Corey Lane, Lauren Lane, Jonathon Mattos, Allissa Lane, Nicholas Mattos, Joshua Lane and Christopher Lane; dear great-grandchildren, Quinn Lane and Jack Lane; and her siblings, Donald Governo, Mary Titus, Louis Governo, John Governo, Raymond Governo, Michael Governo, and Ann Hill. She was the sister of the late Antone Governo Jr., Madeline Burdge, and Irene Belanger.
Relatives and friends are warmly welcome to attend visitation on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 9:45 am from the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Coyle Drive, Seekonk, MA.

Burial will follow in Oak Knoll Cemetery, 310 Tremont Street, Rehoboth, MA.
