Shirley Ann (Murray) Jarosz, 81, of Perrin Avenue, Pawtucket, RI, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 ("All Saints Day") at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket. She was the wife of the late Mitchell James Jarosz. Born on August 10, 1934 in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of James Murray and Catherine (King) Murray. Raised in Attleboro, she was a graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 1954, and worked for many years as a Social Worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts before retiring in 1995. She attended St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro. Shirley was a resident of Pawtucket for the past twenty years. Shirley's life was truly filled with an assortment of interests and passions. She was an avid reader, loved playing Bingo, trips to the casino, watching game shows, old movies, and sports of all kinds, particularly her Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins. She loved playing Bingo at St, Mary's Church in Norton on Friday nights, and Monday night card games at Fitzy's Pub in Plainville. Shirley delighted in taking seafood road trips with Walter, Mary and Carol, and was a dedicated and ardent supporter for more than twenty years of tennis matches coached by her son-in-law. Most important to Shirley was the time she spent with her cherished family. She was the beloved mother of Mitchell J. Jarosz of Attleboro, MA; Mary C. Jasionowski, and her husband, John F. Jasionowski of Pawtucket, RI; and Rod E. Jarosz, and his wife, Karen M (Motter) Jarosz of Attleboro, MA; and the sister of Claire (Murray) Dowdall of Rumford, RI. Shirley was the grandmother of Whitney Jarosz; Edward Jarosz; Jacqueline Wirkerman; and the late Mackenzie Jarosz, and great-grandmother of Chloe Wirkerman; Aubrey Jarosz; Brennan Ryan; and Joshua Wirkerman. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, including Jason J. Jasionowski. Shirley also leaves her sweet rescued dogs: "Rufus" and "Rascal". She was the sister of the late Kay (Murray) Direnzo; Margaret (Murray) Perry; Rita Murray; and John Murray. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, 3/4 mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
