Shirley Mae Desisto

Shirley Mae (Donahue) DeSisto, 88, Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI.
Born on February 1, 1931 in Brockton, MA, she was the daughter of the late J. Henry Donahue and the late Irvena (Raymond) Sullivan.
Raised and educated in Brockton, MA, she was a graduate of Brockton High School, and had been a resident of Attleboro since 1988. Shirley had worked briefly for the former New England Telephone Company.
A woman of strong faith and dedication to her family, she was an avid reader and writer who enjoyed crafts, coloring, participation in the Sturdy Memorial Hospital Wellness Program, and who had a love of all animals. She had a special place in her heart for her faithful companion, "Coco" and her late dog, "Franky". Family meant everything to Shirley, and she cherished spending time with them.
She was the loving mother of James E. DeSisto of Boston, Therese "Terri" Marie DeSisto of Attleboro, MA; Joel Francis DeSisto of Taunton, MA; Bernadette M. Alvernaz of Rehoboth, MA; Jeannine M. Collins of Norton, MA; Paul G. DeSisto of Pleasanton, CA; Francine M. Tula of Norton, MA; Thomas M. DeSisto of Attleboro, MA; the late John Mario DeSisto; and the late David Alan DeSisto. She was the proud grandmother of Gianna Matchniff, Bethany Fowler, Chelsea Grenham, Matthew Tracy, Michael DeSisto, Justin Tracy and Andrea Estrada. Shirley was also the adoring great-grandmother of Noah Grenham, Kennedy Matchniff and Kai Matchniff. Shirley was the dear sister of Margaret Adams of Cape Cod, MA; Brenda Springer of Berkley, MA; Joseph Sullivan of Cape Cod; the late Henry Donahue, and the late Rhoda Brady. She leaves several nieces and nephews; her extended family; her lifelong friend, also known as her other half, Jeanne Cyr Nugent of Webster, MA; and many dear friends.
A Private Memorial Visitation followed by a Celebration of Life Remembrance Service was held at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
