Shirley A. Coughlin

Shirley A. (Zella) Coughlin, 89, of North Attleboro, MA passed away surrounded by her loving and supportive family at her residence on Monday, May 22, 2023.  She was the wife of the late Charles S. Coughlin who died on March 21, 2002.
Born in Newton, MA on October 6, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Anthony J. Zella and the late Olive Mary (Gallant) Zella.  She was raised and educated in the City of Quincy (MA) where she was a 1951 graduate of Quincy High School.
Prior to her retirement in 1996,  she was employed at General Dynamics in Quincy, MA; Executive Secretary at Sigma Instruments in Braintree, MA and Concordia Manufacturing in Coventry, Rhode Island.
Her favorite pastimes included gardening, reading, playing the piano and cooking for family and friends. She enjoyed line dancing with her friends at Lake Pearl in Wrentham, MA. She was an active member of the Live Wires, a local senior group.
Among her loving survivors are her children: Ronald C. Coughlin of North Attleboro, MA; Linda A. Coughlin of North Attleboro, MA; Laurie J. Coughlin Lajoie of Hampton, New Hampshire and Janice M. Creeden of North Attleboro, MA; her cherished grandchildren: Neil Mooney of Hampton, NH; and Rachael Creeden and Marcus Creeden both of North Attleboro, MA; her siblings: Doreen Eaton of Milton, MA John Zella of Aiken, SC and Dr. William Zella of Hull, MA. She is predeceased by her siblings: Alfred Zella of Hull, MA; Barbara O'Brien of Maryville, TN; Carol Wood of Braintree, MA. She was also the aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Celebration of Life Visitation on Friday, June 2, 2023, from 10:00 am until 11:30 am in  the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.  A sharing of reflections will commence at 11:30 am following the visitation time.
Following visitation an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments for a buffet lunch at a location to be announced.
Burial in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro, MA will be conducted privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Shirley's memorial may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
