Shantiben H. Patel, 85, of Ghumasan, Gujarat, India went to Akshardham on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Hiralal Ambalal Patel.
Born on March 1st, 1936 in Gujarat, India, she was the daughter of the late Shivabhai V. Patel and the late Kashiben S. Patel.
She was the loving mother of Vimala P. Patel of Kalol, India, Arvind H. Patel of Hanson, MA, Mukesh H. Patel of Braintree, MA, and Sushi M. Patel of Murfreesboro, TN. Shantiben was the proud and adoring grandmother of nine grandchildren (Nick, Neha, Ketan, Ronik, Rakesh, Sanjay, Manish, Manan, Mauli) and eight great-grandchildren (Shivani, Bhavin, Kush, Jolly, Amaani, Ved, Krishiv, Riya).
Shantiben was a living saint in society and fully devoted to Lord Swaminarayan. She was a disciplined individual and she performed her rituals of Puja & Aarti religiously every day. She had unwavering faith in Lord Swaminarayan and the Lord's will by saying "Javi Bapani Iccha". Cooking Ladva and Mohanthar for her family was one of the many ways that she expressed her love for everyone. Her favorite food was Bhajiya. She loved reading scriptures, doing mala and chanting "Swaminarayan". Her time management skills were excellent and she took care of housework, farm duties, milking buffaloes, taking care of her animals and other social obligations on a daily basis. She always put other people's needs before her own. She was self-sufficient, resourceful and never complained about anything. Shantiben was a river flowing with compassion, kindness, and love. With her positive attitude and mental toughness, she will inspire you with the belief that anything is possible.
With strict adherence to all applicable COVID-19 precautions, including social distancing and the use of face masks, family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation and Hindu Ritual Service on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, followed by a Traditional Hindu Service and Cremation Service at 12:15 p.m. at North Purchase Crematory, Attleboro, MA.
