Cumberland, RI – Scott D. Welton, age 72, a lifelong resident of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025, after a period of declining health, at The Holiday Retirement Community in Lincoln.
Born on November 21, 1952, in Attleboro, MA, Scott was the cherished son of the late Albert K. and Virginia M. (Rosequist) Welton.
Scott attended the University of Rhode Island, where he earned an associate degree in Business. He embarked on a successful career as a supervisor at a local metal foundry, where he was admired for his dedication and effort. Scott later became the proud owner and operator of Alum-A-Cast, specializing in manufacturing golf clubs for driving ranges and pitch and putt courses.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Scott was a man of diverse interests. He was an avid fisherman and walker, often finding tranquility and inspiration along the ponds and lakes of Cumberland. Scott's interest in history led him to amass impressive collections of Victorian furniture, arrowheads, antique Halloween noisemakers, wrestling figures and antique bottles, which he cherished deeply.
Scott is survived by his loving niece, Sara N. Welton, of Cumberland, who was a constant presence and source of joy in his life.
Services for Scott will take place privately.
