Sandra "Sandy" Diane Nedder

Sandra "Sandy" Diane (Gilcoine) Nedder, 76, of Norton, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Wingate of Norton in Norton, MA. She was the beloved wife of Stephen J. Nedder Sr. for over forty years.Born on February 25, 1942 in Hingham, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Gilcoine and the late Ruth (Winquist) Gilcoine.A graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1960, Sandy worked for many years as a hairdresser for a number of businesses in the area before retiring.A resident of Norton for the past ten years, she previously lived in Attleboro, MA.She was a warm and generous woman who was active in Al-Anon and Alateen, and shared her humor, compassion, and kindness with countless people in the program over the years. She enjoyed painting and working on jigsaw puzzles, and more than anything, being with her family. In addition to her husband, Steve, she leaves her children: Brenda M. Ficken and her wife, Kathy Ficken, of Foxboro, MA; Joseph S. Nedder and his wife, Christina (Kwok) Nedder, of Carmel, IN; David J. Nedder and his wife, Mary T. (Lally) Nedder, of Attleboro, MA; Laura A. Thatcher of Norton, MA; Stephen J. Nedder Jr. and his wife, Melanie M. (Kline) Nedder, of Attleboro, MA; and Deirdre A. Nedder of Sharon, MA. She was the adoring grandmother of nine grandchildren and the proud great-grandmother of four great-grandchildren. Sandy was the sister of Donna Thayer of Weymouth, MA, and her late husband Pat, and leaves several nieces and nephews. Her family wishes to express their appreciation and thanks to the staff at Wingate of Norton for their care.Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember Sandy by gathering for a Memorial Visitation on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.Burial will be private.
