Sabina Augusta Lopes

Sabina Augusta Lopes, 93, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. Born on August 29, 1925 in Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde, where she was raised and educated, Sabina came to the United States in 1984. She was a woman of great faith and devotion, and attended The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus in Providence, RI, for many years. Sabina enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and tending to her plants and flowers. She loved to cook. More than anything, Sabina cherished her role as a loving mother and homemaker.Sabina was the beloved mother of Elcino Lopes of Cape Verde; Edwino Lopes of North Providence, RI; Alice Costa-Santos of Sweden; Dilia Pimentel of Spain; Maria Pimentel of Attleboro, MA; Jose Morais of Providence, RI; and the late Luis Santos. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and two great-great-great grandchildren. Sabina was the dear sister of Armando Lopes of Norway, and was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
