Ruth M. Preston

Ruth M. (Beaulieu) Preston, 94, of Bowers Landing Drive, Merrimack, NH; formerly of Green Drive, North Attleboro, died peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2015 at The Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire. She was the wife of the late Harold Lord Preston to whom she was married on August 8, 1940 and who died on September 17, 2002. Born in North Attleboro, Massachusetts on January 2, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Alphonse and Ruth (Ewen) Beaulieu. She was raised and educated in North Attleboro where she was a graduate of North Attleboro High School. She remained a resident of the community until moving to New Hampshire 11 years ago. She was a dedicated and devoted homemaker to her beloved family. She treasured every moment with her loved ones creating lifelong memories for all to cherish. Mrs. Preston attended the Central Congregational Church in the Village of Attleboro Falls since 1962 and was a member of the church choir for many years. She leaves her daughter: Verona M. (Preston) Sawyer, wife of the late Russell Sawyer who died in 2008, of New Lenox, Illinois; her son and devoted caregiver: Harold L. "Hal" Preston II and his wife, Laurie F. Preston, with whom she resided in Merrimack, NH; 6 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two brothers: Robert Beaulieu in Florida and David Beaulieu of Plainville and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was the grandmother of the late Sean Sawyer who died in 2009 and was the sister of the late Donald Beaulieu and Lillian Edgecombe LaCroix. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Family and friends are welcome to attend the Funeral Service on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Carole L. Baker, Pastor of Central Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro.
