Ruth E. Phipps, 82, of Taunton, died peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Golden Living Center - Garden Place in Attleboro where she had been a resident since June 2011 and after an extended period of failing health. Born in Taunton, Massachusetts on February 17, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Albert J. and Anna E. (Bissonnette) Phipps. She was raised and educated in Taunton where she was a 1948 graduate of Taunton High School. She remained a lifelong resident of the community. Miss Phipps was employed her entire career at Haskon Industries in Taunton prior to her retirement. She is survived by her beloved niece and caregiver: Susan "Kitty" Horgan-Berry of Taunton; a sister: A. Louise Emond of Taunton and a brother: George Phipps in California. She is also survived by her nephews: Brian Horgan of Plymouth; James Phipps and Albert Phipps both in California and several extended family members. She was the sister of the late Albert Phipps and Bill "Gus" Phipps. She was the aunt of the late Robert Phipps. Kenneth Boyle, Pastor of the Candleberry Chapel, South Main Street, Attleboro, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Taunton.
