Ruth H. (Howard) Baker, 99, of Attleboro, MA; formerly of North Attleboro, MA passed away on September 4, 2024, at the Life Care Center of Attleboro where she had been a resident for several years. She was the wife of the late Russell Howes Baker, Sr to whom she was married on August 24, 1946.
Born in Oakland, California on December 24, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John “Jack” Howard and the late Edith (Bensson) Howard. She was a graduate of Northfield Academy and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College.
Mrs. Baker was employed as a vice president at her family’s business, Homer Alden in North Attleboro, MA and later was employed in the refinery division of Leach & Garner in North Attleboro, MA.
She was a member of the Second Congregational Church, Attleboro, MA.
Mrs. Baker also enjoyed the times with her family at her summer residence in Sagamore Beach on Cape Cod.
She leaves her children: Russell Howes Baker, Jr. and his wife, Anne Baker, of North Attleboro, MA and Andrea Baker Rowley of St. Croix; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; her brother: Ralph M. Howard of Naples, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
At her request, all services will be private followed by burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband.
